Manghis’ has a unique delivery system: most of our bread is delivered by volunteers who commute or travel to and from Montpelier and nearby towns. In exchange for their service, our drivers are “paid” with free loaves of bread. This system allows us to keep our bread affordable, is easier on the environment by not adding any more cars to the road, and helps us get to know our community. We received the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence in 1998 for our homegrown delivery system!
